All five babies born to a couple on Wednesday at Nakuru Level Five Hospital have died.
The quintuplets were delivered prematurely and were incubated at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital’s Margaret Kenyatta Mother and Baby ward.
Dr. Aisha Maina, the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, stated that the four girls and one boy weighed between 500 and 650 grams.
She stated that the mother, Margaret Wangui, 25, was in stable condition and would be discharged.
After birth, medics at the clinic placed four girls and one boy on life support.
The birth of the five children made news on Wednesday as their father, Simon Ndung’u, a matatu driver, appealed for help from Kenyans.
