A 42-year-old lady was slashed to death and her clothes thrown in a latrine in the Olerai neighbourhood, according to police in Narok North sub-county.
According to Frederick Shiundu, the sub-county police chief, a 27-year-old woman who was the deceased’s roommate was detained for interrogation after early investigations revealed she was involved in the crime.
According to accounts, the two women were living together in a leased residence where they are accused of fighting after a drinking binge before one of them killed the other.
A Maasai sword was thought to have been used in the murder, and blood-stained clothing was retrieved from the bathroom, according to Shiundu.
While police continue their investigation, he confirmed that the deceased’s body was transported to the Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation.
