Police on Thursday, March 30, repulsed unknown individuals attempting to raid Kedong Ranch, which is associated with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, near the Narok East border.
According to reports, police patrolled the area before spotting armed youth attempting to breach the security fence and enter the ranch.
Tear gas canisters were lobbed to disperse the rowdy youths.
“We received reports that some members of the youth from the neighbouring community planned to invade the more than 75,000-acre expansive land and destroy property. We deployed anti-riot officers from 6am. They thwarted the attempt by the youths to invade the land,” said County Commissioner Isaac Masinde.
No casualties were reported following the attempted raid on Kedong Ranch.
Preliminary reports also indicated that no property was destroyed during the attempted raid on former President Uhuru’s ranch.
