National Police Service Plans To Prohibit Officers From Marrying Each Other

To combat sexual abuse and indiscipline, the National Police Service is planning to prohibit officers from marrying each other.

The order, according to Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, will take effect by July of this year.

He was speaking at the National Police College Kiganjo Campus in Nyeri on Friday during the formal opening ceremony of the direct entry cadet inspectors course.

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) announced in July of last year that it was probing allegations from female police officers alleging sexual harassment from their superiors.
