NCBA Targets Global-Facing Kenyans With New Offshore Investment Platform

NCBA Investment Bank has unveiled a suite of Offshore Investment Solutions, positioning itself to serve Kenyan clients seeking global diversification and protection from regional economic volatility.

The launch was announced on November 22 in Nairobi and marks a strategic move to offer professionally managed access to global markets, foreign currency exposure and more sophisticated wealth building options.

Managing Director Muathi Kilonzo said the new solutions align with client demand in an economy shaped by currency instability and shifting regional conditions. He added that NCBA is leveraging its international networks to create a compliant offshore structure that meets regulatory requirements while safeguarding client capital.

Kenya has been identified as one of Africa’s fastest growing wealth hubs. The latest Africa Wealth Report ranks the country fifth on the continent with 6800 high net worth individuals. NCBA says the upward trend in wealth creation and Nairobi’s growing role as a continental financial centre make offshore diversification a necessary step for long term investors concerned about domestic risk.

The bank’s new offering spans three tiers.
Pooled Investment Funds provide accessible US dollar denominated products like the NCBA Global Fixed Income Special Fund and the NCBA Global Equity Special Fund with a minimum entry point of 1000 dollars.
Execution mandates and custody services target self directed investors looking for a platform to trade a variety of offshore instruments.
Bespoke segregated portfolios serve ultra high net worth clients, institutions and family offices seeking customised exposure to global equities, bonds and alternative assets.

NCBA is also targeting corporate clients involved in international trade and diaspora clients who earn and save in foreign currencies.

All products fall under strict global compliance, including full Know Your Customer rules, Anti Money Laundering standards and FATCA requirements.

The unveiling took place during the 5th Annual Abojani Economic Forum where NCBA was a lead sponsor. The event brought together young professionals, SMEs and emerging investors focused on wealth creation and long term financial planning, offering a fitting backdrop for the introduction of the offshore platform.
