NEMA Leads School Greening Program In Narok

Written By Gerald Gekara | |

The National Environmental Management Authority has launched a School Greening Program in Narok County’s Trans Mara West Sub County.

The authority, led by Chairman John Konchellah, planted over 8,000 plants and gave 5,000 L water tanks to the schools of Intuka, Ilipashire, Oldanyati, and Sikawa.

The program aims to raise student understanding about environmental issues such as tree planting, garbage management, and water harvesting.

The initiative has been implemented across the country by the Authority.

Different tree species are provided at schools, and students and teachers plant them.

The seedlings are protected from animals, weeded, and watered by the students.
