Covid vaccines will be required for key actors and staff on US TV and film projects, according to Netflix.
According to rumours, the US streaming service will need “zone A” people – actors and staff who are in close proximity to them – to acquire the vaccine.
Netflix made the change after Hollywood unions and studios recently agreed to new guidelines that will allow firms to impose obligatory vaccination programs.
He has stated that he will not return to work on the NBC Universal-backed drama Gaslit unless the whole cast and crew has been vaccinated.
Netflix is making the move after the US Disease Control and Prevention announced earlier this week that masks will once again have to be worn indoors even by people who have been fully vaccinated.
It follows a spike in Covid cases due to the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant.
Google chief executive Sundar Pichai said in a blog post that “anyone coming to work on our campuses will need to be vaccinated”.
