The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has commenced military training for a new group of recruits at the Defence Forces Recruit Training School (DFRTS) in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
In a statement released on Tuesday, November 11, KDF announced that the event marked the start of training for the first cohort of service members.
“The Defence Forces Recruit Training School (DFRTS) today marked a significant milestone as it officially received recruits for Cohort 01/25 in an event that was presided over by Brigadier Alphonce Ndar of KDF at Eldoret in Uasin Gishu County,” the statement read.

“I wish you nothing but success, stay healthy, take care of yourselves, and approach your training with discipline and commitment,” he said.

The process includes physical, technical, and leadership training aimed at instilling professionalism and discipline.
“The recruits will undergo, document verification, medical screening, biometric registration, issuance of kit and an initial orientation to prepare them for the foundational military training that covers discipline, physical conditioning, field craft, leadership development and core soldiering skills,” the statement added.
