Nicki Minaj Bashed Over Comment On PNB Shooting

As reported on Monday, shockwaves were sent through the music industry after reports surfaced rapper PnB Rock was shot and killed in Los Angeles as a result of a robbery attempt.

He was only 30-years-old.

While a number of his Hip Hop peers and fans flooded social media with condolences and sympathies for his family, Rap Queen Nicki Minaj did too – but not without issuing a stern message to rappers about the company they keep.

Citing Rock’s death as a cautionary tale, her cautions, while applauded by her admirers fondly known as #Barbz, drew jeers from others and were even labelled as ‘untimely’ and ‘insensitive.’

“After [the death of] Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts,” she began.  “To show waffles and some fried chicken???! He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom and family. This makes me feel so sick. Jesus.”

The message rubbed some the wrong way as it was believed to infer Rock’s girlfriend, who had posted a location-tagged photo in LA’s Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles, was to blame for his killing.
