Njonjo: I am Alive, Enjoying My Utamaduni Day

The Charles Mugane Njonjo family has confirmed that the former powerful AG is alive and well.

According to Citizen TV, Njonjo is enjoying his well-deserved retirement at home.

“Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. I am well and enjoying my weekend at home as we celebrate Utamaduni Day,” Njonjo said in a statement.

Njonjo, is one of three living members of Kenya’s post-independence Cabinet, which was constituted by Kenya’s founding President Jomo Kenyatta.

Former President Mwai Kibaki, 89, and James Osogo, 88, are among the others.

Njonjo’s lengthy life expectancy has always been a topic of curiosity among Kenyans, as he turned 101 in January this year.

Njonjo owns a multibillion-dollar property and holds significant ownership in the Sankara Hotel in Nairobi. According to reports, he has a net worth of more than Ksh7 billion.
