The Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) has issued a public notice requesting that company owners interested in establishing a base at the Green Park terminus in Nairobi submit their expressions of interest by Friday’s close of business.
Traders who operated out of the demolished Lunar Park, as well as individuals or businesses who had previously indicated interest in any of the above or other leasing space at the port, are not required to apply.
NMS has announced in a public notice that it will lease space at the Shs250 million terminal for commercial purposes or to provide complementary public transportation services.
Commercial office space, commercial retail spaces (shops), supermarket space, cafes, and ablution cleaning and management services are also available for lease.
The terminus, which is located near the former Lunar Park, serves as a drop-off and pick-up location for matatus operating on the Ngong and Lang’ata routes, which all originate at Nairobi Railways Central Station.
NMS announced in May that certain services at the terminus would be levied a fee. Traders selling their items at the terminal, as well as the usage of ablution blocks and advertisement spaces at the terminal, will all be subject to the token cost.
