NMS Prepares For Second Green Park Terminus Test Run Ahead Of Launch

Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) will conduct another test run at the Green Park terminal in Nairobi on Friday evening, ahead of its scheduled launch. – By Gerald Gekara.

The pick-up and drop-off evaluation follows a similar one last month, which targeted public service vehicles (PSVs) on the Ngong Road route during the morning peak commute (6am to 9am).

NMS Director General Major General Mohamed Badi stated in a public notification on Wednesday that the Friday drill will take place during the evening commute for matatus utilizing the Nairobi Railways Central station façade.

Affected matatus include those plying the Ngong, Lang’ata, Ngumo, Kawangware and Kibera routes.

The state-of-art facility adopts a similar design to the Greyhound Terminus in New York United States, with most of its structures already complete including pavements and bus shades.

NMS Director of Transport and Public Works Engineer Michael Ochieng, pointed out that the terminus will be in two parts, with the first part next to Haile Selassie and the other one along Bunyala Road where people will be able to cross using the footbridge into the CBD.
