No Christmas For Police – Matiangi

As part of measures to keep the country safe, there will be no Christmas holiday for the security officers.

Secretary of the Interior Fred Matiangi ordered that the officers be on duty and coordinate on numerous topics that will keep the country safe.

Members of the National Government Administration Officers (Regional, County, Deputy County, Assistant County Commissioners, chiefs and assistant chiefs) are among the officers.

He explained, “The decision is a presidential command issued by the president in his capacity as Chairman of the National Security Council.”

He noted that, because of political instability in neighbouring countries, all security agents have been ordered to be on high alert during the holiday season.

He spoke at the installation of Senior Principal Chief Roika ole Shira in Kekurro, Kajiado County, on Wednesday.

During the period, the CS asked individuals to be vigilant and cautious of their surroundings.

He also told chiefs and assistant chiefs to demonstrate loyalty to the government of the day and to unequivocally support Government projects and policies.

The country has been on an alert mode over terror issues. The developments in Ethiopia have also prompted security officials to be on alert for the past months.

Officials who were on leave were ordered to be back on duties.
