
Kenya reported 1,220 Covid-19 cases out of a total of 3,444 samples tested on Monday.
The percentage of people who are optimistic has risen to 29.6%.
CS for Health, Mutahi Kagwe revealed that 906 of those who tested positive were Kenyans and 114 were foreigners.
There are 534 females and 486 males among the total number of cases.
The smallest was a one-year-old baby, and the oldest was 95.
“There have been no fatalities reported as of today. The total number of those who died remains at 5,353 “Kagwe said.
With Monday’s data, the total number of confirmed positive cases has risen to 264,727, while the total number of tests has risen to 2,933,764.
According to the CS, 19 persons have recovered from the disease, with 14 coming from different health facilities and five via the home-based isolation and care program.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 249,315. Home-based care and isolation programs account for 201,154 of the total recoveries, while health facilities account for 48,161.
288 individuals were admitted to the hospital, while 5,631 were being cared for at home.
Sixteen patients were in the intensive care unit, nine of whom required ventilatory support and seven of whom required supplementary oxygen.
There were also 61 patients on supplemental oxygen and 57 in general wards.
The HDU housed four patients.
According to the CS, 8,902,539 immunizations had been administered across the country by December 19.
A total of 5,310,496 persons received partial vaccinations, while 3,592,043 received full vaccinations.
The second dose was taken up by 56.2 per cent of the time. Adults who were fully immunized accounted for 13.2% of the population.
