‘Hard work Pays’: DPP Haji Lands An International Job

Noordin Haji, Director of Public Prosecutions, has been elected President of the Eastern Africa Association of Prosecutors (EAAP).

Haji was elected at the conclusion of the EAAP 10th Annual General Meeting and Conference in Kampala, Uganda.

The prosecutors agreed to collaborate to establish and raise professional conduct and ethics standards for African prosecutors, as well as to promote the rule of law, fairness, impartiality, and respect for human rights, as well as to improve regional cooperation to combat crime.

Haji will be able to advance innovative strategies to combat transnational organized crime, as well as strengthen regional and international cooperation and collaboration in the prosecution of transnational organized crimes such as terrorism, corruption, cybercrime, and human trafficking, among others.

Haji, for his part, thanked EAAP members for voting for him and promised to strengthen regional cooperation in the prosecution of transnational organized crime.

Haji will be deputized by DRC and Rwandan DPP, the Secretary general of EAAP from Uganda, Treasurer from Tanzania and General Counsel from Mozambique.
