NPS Destroys Illicit Brews and Narcotics in Nyamira

The National Police Service (NPS) oversaw the destruction of seized illicit brews and narcotics at Nyamira Police Station, Nyamira South Sub-County, on Thursday, 21st August 2025.

The operation was led by Sub-County Police Commander Mr. Martin Wambugu, SP; Sub-County Administration Police Commander Mr. Bernard Wetete, SP; DCIO Nyamira South Mrs. Emily Njeri; and the OCS Nyamira Police Station, C.I. Charles Ouma Kisiengo, in collaboration with Assistant County Commissioner Mr. Biegon Wilberforce.

The exercise highlighted the NPS’s firm commitment to tackling crime and illegal trade in the region.

Among the items destroyed were 348 litres of chang’aa, 130 litres of kangara, 2 kilograms of cannabis sativa, expired alcoholic drinks, and several steel drums used in the illicit trade.

The NPS reaffirmed its dedication to protecting communities by limiting the availability of illicit brews and narcotics.

Authorities emphasized that continued collaboration with local administrators is key to ensuring a safer and healthier society for all residents.
