The National Police Service (NPS) has successfully concluded a two-day comprehensive e-learning sensitisation programme aimed at transforming police capacity-building through digital innovation. Held on 9th and 10th June 2026, the training targeted over 500 police officers from various cadres currently undertaking capacity-building programmes.

Sensitisation sessions were conducted at two police training institutions: the Border Police Training Campus (BPTC) in Kanyonyo on 9th June 2026 and the National Police College Main Campus (NPC-MC), Kiganjo, on 10th June 2026.

Leading the sessions was the NPS Director of Training and Research, Mr. Hassan Aljir, AIG. At BPTC Kanyonyo, he was received by the Campus Commandant, Mr. Kiplangat Chirchir, AIG, while at NPC-MC Kiganjo, he was welcomed by the Deputy Commandant, Ms. Donatha Kiplagat, AIG, alongside the Chief Instructor, Mr. Humphrey Abai, CP.

Designed as a self-paced online initiative, the e-learning programme enables officers to register independently for courses, complete module-based learning pathways, undertake end-of-module assessments, and receive immediate electronic certification. Through an accessible digital platform, the programme aims to enhance digital literacy, improve workplace performance, and equip officers with the critical knowledge required to address emerging technological and security threats.

Supporting the Inspector General’s vision of transforming police stations and public service delivery points into centres of excellence is a key objective of this initiative. In addition, the programme advances the strategic goals outlined in the NPS Strategic Plan 2023–2027, which seeks to transform the Service into a highly professional, efficient, accountable, and people-centred institution.

Included within the e-learning platform are eleven core modules: Use of Force and Firearms, Handling Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Bail and Bond, Crowd Control and Public Order Management, Diversion, Handling Special Interest Groups, Decision to Charge, Crime Investigation, Change Management, Work-related Trauma, and Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA).

Commitment to institutional modernisation, progressive training frameworks, and strategic partnerships remains central to the National Police Service’s efforts to strengthen operational efficiency and deepen public trust.
