NSSF Announces Internship Opportunities; How to Apply

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has announced applications for internship opportunities for degree and diploma holders.

In a notice issued on Thursday, April 30, NSSF invited applications for the 2026/2027 Internship Programme.

NSSF stated that the programme aims to enable youth to gain practical experience and on-the-job training for one year.

“The Fund intends to run the above-referred program to enable youths to gain practical, on-the-job experience for a period of one (1) year. This is in line with the Government Youth Initiative to develop a pool of young talent for the Kenyan Labour Market.

“The Fund hereby invites applications from suitable Kenyan youths for the Internship Opportunities for the FY 2026/2027 available at its Head office and branches countrywide.”

NSSF Internship Requirements

According to the requirements, candidates must hold a first degree or diploma from an accredited institution and must have already graduated with their certificates.

Applicants must be unemployed Kenyan youth aged between 20 and 34 years. They should also have graduated within the last five years from the closing date of the internship advertisement.

In addition, candidates must provide a recommendation or reference letter from the institution they attended.

Those who have previously undertaken another internship programme or gained work experience since graduation will not qualify.

Successful applicants must also be available for the full one-year internship period.

The fund further stated that suitable candidates must demonstrate high integrity, be goal-oriented, dynamic, self-driven, and diligent.

Applicants should also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be proficient in ICT, and work well in a team environment.

Selected interns will be assigned duties and responsibilities by the respective department heads or supervisors upon appointment.

How to Apply

Interested candidates who meet the outlined requirements should submit their applications online through the provided application link, where they will create and complete their profiles before uploading the required documents.

Applicants must upload a copy of their degree or diploma certificate, an application letter, a curriculum vitae (CV), a copy of their national ID, and a recommendation letter.

All applications must be submitted online by the close of business on Friday, 22 May, 2026.

Incomplete or hard copy applications shall not be considered.

The Fund noted that it does not guarantee employment after completion of the internship program.

Successful candidates will be required to complete the one (1) year Internship without a break to fully benefit from the objectives of the program.
