Nine suspected members of a notorious criminal gang have been arrested in a targeted security operation in Trans Nzoia West Sub-County.

The operation, conducted by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters alongside Kenya Police Service officers from Kitale Police Station, focused on the Premium and Tuwani areas, which have recently experienced increased gang-related activity.

Acting on intelligence, the joint team carried out coordinated raids, leading to the arrest of the nine suspects believed to be linked to criminal activities that have disrupted public order in the area.

Authorities say the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to address organized crime and enhance security in the region.

The suspects are currently in police custody undergoing processing and are expected to be arraigned in court.
