NTSA impound Modern Coast buses for violating ban

A total of 90 Kenyans have been left stranded this morning after 2 buses belonging to the probed Modern Coast bus company were impounded by Kenyan traffic police.

The incident that happened at Sultan Hamud, about 370 Km from Mombasa has left Kenyans baffled at how the buses managed to pass all the road checks from Mombasa only to frustrate passengers at the roadblock, miles away.

The Modern Coast Bus company has been banned from operating until investigations into the sporadic near-death accidents and the recent head-on collision between two buses belonging to the company.

The NTSA and Modern Coast have been engaging on a back and forth exchange over lifting the ban, after Modern Coast posted a letter from the NTSA Director-General George Njao indicating that the ban had been Lifted, only for the NTSA to respond on their twitter feed that the ban was not lifted.

The back and forth between the bus owner and the safety authority have led to frustrations by a section of citizens who had to cancel their vacation plans and opt for other means of transport that are already booked.
