BY ENOCK MUKOMA – A survey by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has indicated a sharp increase in deaths on roads.
According to the report, more people died on the roads in January 2020 compared to last year same time.
The number of deaths skyrocketed to 260 up from 177 in the same period in 2019.
It is recorded that the pedestrian was on the receiving end at 96 up from 68 the same time last year.
54 motorcyclists lost their lives compared to 43 last year besides 31 motorcycle passengers lost their lives compared to 11 last year.
The survey also shows 22 drivers lost their lives up from 18.
