Nyanza First Spouses Bless Keroka Mums With Mothers Day Gifts

First Spouses from the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB), led by Nyamira County First Lady Emily Nyaribo, today toured Keroka Level IV Hospital to assess ongoing improvements in healthcare delivery at the facility.

The visit comes as the hospital continues to expand services and upgrade equipment under the leadership of Governor Amos Nyaribo. Recent developments include the introduction of orthopaedic surgeries and caesarean sections, made possible by new, high-quality medical equipment.

During the visit, the First Spouses interacted with patients in various wards — including the male, female, and mother-and-child units — offering words of encouragement and well-wishes for their recovery. They also urged the public to embrace local health services, noting significant improvements in service quality and accessibility.

“Our presence here is to affirm the progress made and encourage continued investment in healthcare at the grassroots,” said Mrs. Nyaribo.

The First Spouses are currently attending a workshop in Mekenene Ward, where they are reviewing the implementation status of key regional development projects and programmes across the bloc’s member counties.

Their hospital visit reflects a growing focus on strengthening county-level healthcare infrastructure, which remains a cornerstone of devolved governance in Kenya.
