Okoth Obado, the former Migori governor, has denied that President William Ruto abandoned him after he dumped Azimio la Umoja to join Kenya Kwanza.
In an interview with Ramogi TV on Friday, January 6, Obado stated that after his term as county boss ended, he chose to focus on his family business and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He also stated that if Ruto decides to appoint him to any position, he would be willing to join the government.
He also stated that he was concentrating on his Juakali business with the assistance of his family.
Moreover, he urged the region to support the Ruto administration, citing the Kenya Kwanza side’s clout in the 2022 General Election.
“I want all Kenyans and leaders to support elected leaders. After the elections, we should move quickly and embrace one another “He stated.
After Ruto named his Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, Obado spoke for the first time.
Many expected him to take a job as PS or CS after being one of the first leaders to defect to Kenya Kwanza.
Missing out on Cabinet appointments prompted reports that the Head of State had abandoned him.
