The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced that nominations in Nairobi and Mombasa counties have been scheduled for Friday, April 22, 2022.

The process will be carried out by the party in several parts of the country’s capital as well as throughout Mombasa County.

According to a statement by the National Elections Board (NEB) head Catherine Mumma, the primaries in the two counties will only be for MP and MCA positions.

“Further to the communication previously issued on the ODM party primaries and consultations held with the party leadership, the National Elections Board (NEB) wishes to notify party members and aspirants that the primaries will be conducted Friday 22nd April,” read the statement.

According to Mumma, only Lang’ata and Westlands Constituencies would conduct the party primaries in Nairobi.

In Mombasa County, the party announced that nominations would be held exclusively for the legislative position of Woman Representative across the county.

The NEB calls on all stakeholders in the process to maintain peace as they participate in the electoral process ahead of the August elections.
