Kenyans who have not yet registered for Huduma Namba cards will be given a second chance to do so soon.
Colonel Rtd. Cyrus Oguna, the government’s spokesperson, said at a press conference on Wednesday that the exercise will be reopened soon as the necessary logistics plans are completed.
At the same time, Oguna urged Kenyans who had already registered for the cards to pick them up whenever notifications were received.
“For those who might not have been able to register during phase one, for one reason or another, we are informing our people that phase two of registration is ready to roll out,” he said.
According to the government, between 5.3 and 5.5 million Huduma Namba cards have been processed so far, but only three million have been collected.
From 2022, Huduma Namba cards will be used to replace current identification cards (IDs).
