Olympics Athletes Fight ‘Sexist’ Uniform Rules

Female athletes for the Norwegian team were fined by the European Handball Federation (EHF) for protesting the rule that requires all competing female athletes to wear bikini bottoms instead of shorts.

The dress rules indicate that all female athletes are not to wear bottoms longer than 10cm in length and midriff-baring tops.

Men on the other hand are supposed to wear tank tops and shorts down near their knees.

The Norwegian team showed up in shorts for the competition and this act has since then raised the issue of sexism.

Many have applauded the team for standing up for women’s rights to choose what they are comfortable with.

Pink, an American music artist, offered to pay the fine on behalf of the team.

She wrote on her Twitter how proud she was for the team and suggested that the EHF be fined for sexism.

“Good on ya, ladies. I’ll be happy to pay your fines for you. Keep It up.”
