Orengo Meets Raila, Ngilu Over BBI Division

ODM chief Raila Odinga met with Senator James Orengo of Siaya on Monday after a bitter exchange over the party’s BBI-proposed constituencies.

Raila, was photographed with Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya, and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu on Monday.

Orengo has been on the front alongside Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, who warned that the sharing of 70 new constituencies would “divide the region.”

Orengo described his meeting as “refreshing’, with little details over what was discussed.

“It was very refreshing to catch up with my Party Leader Hon. @RailaOdinga, Governor @GovWOparanya, and Mama @mamangilu.” Orengo said.

Charity Ngilu underscored the importance of unity within ODM, especially among leaders.

“The work of dealing with the current pandemic, youth unemployment and the stressed economic times need all of us to come together regardless of party affiliations…. Kenyans are looking up to us to get them out of these challenges. This is not the time to disagree about issues that should be bringing us together.” Charity Ngilu tweeted.

Orengo and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo have been accused of betraying the party after openly questioning the clauses in BBI.
