Outgoing KeNHA DG Lauds President, CS Macharia

Outgoing KeNHA Director General, Engineer Peter Mundinia has thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for giving him an opportunity to serve in his Government.

Eng. Mundinia said it was a privilege to serve Kenyans in the Road Sector for the last six years.

“Through our CS James Macharia, I wish to convey utmost gratitude to the President for according me the opportunity to serve as a Director-General”,Eng. Mundinia said.

He lauded CS Macharia for leading the Roads and Infrastructure docket diligently.

“We achieved a lot under the guidance of CS Macharia and the solid support of Development Partners,” he said.

Eng. Mundinia said the organization has transformed the roads and infrastructure sectors in the process of opening up the economy.

In a farewell message to staff, Eng. Mundinia said his predecessors laid a firm foundation for the public entity to achieve its mission and vision.

“Engineer Kidenda laid the foundation stone for KeNHA. We have built on from there and are proud of the achievements”, the DG said.

He said the organization has achieved its performance targets set out by the Government and urged the acting DG Engineer David Muchilwa to enhance road construction and maintenance.

“The economic blueprint set out by the Government is hinged on sound road and infrastructure development which KeNHA has provided”, Eng. Mundinia.

He has proceeded on leave pending retirement after the expiry of his contract.

KeNHA was established by an Act of Parliament in 2008, with Engineer Kidenda at the helm as the first Director-General.

He exited in 2013 and is currently a director of NTSA.

Among those expected to vie for the position are Engineer Francis Gitau, Engineer Makori, Engineer Kungu Ndungu, and Engineer Kifyoto.
