The Public Investment Committee committee in Parliament grilled Kenya Ferry managers over deteriorating security challenges at the facility.
Led by KFS Managing Director Bakari Gowa, KFS said it had adhered to all the safety guidelines as set out in its operational manual.
Bakari told the MPs led by Abdulswad Nassir that KFS was prudently managed and allayed fears of safety concerns.
He said KFS had delivered a high-value product of crossing people and goods under very challenging circumstances and a shoestring budget.
