Paul Gets Titanium Plates After Joshua Breaks His Jaw in Fight

Jake Paul Fitted with Titanium Plates After Joshua Breaks His Jaw in Heavyweight Bout

American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul underwent surgery to have two titanium plates fitted and teeth removed after Anthony Joshua broke his jaw in two places during their heavyweight fight in Miami.

The 28-year-old lasted six rounds with the two-time world champion before the bout was stopped in the sixth when Paul failed to beat the count following repeated knockdowns. In post-fight comments, Paul said he “definitely” knew his jaw was broken.

On Instagram, Paul posted an X-ray showing the double break along his jawline, accompanied by the message, “Surgery went well thanks for all the love and support. Have to have only liquids for seven days.”

Despite missing the post-fight press conference, Paul later joked on social media about taking on Mexican star Canelo Álvarez “in 10 days.”

Nakisa Bidarian, chief of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, noted that a broken jaw is “very common in sports, particularly in boxing or MMA,” with a standard recovery time of four to six weeks.
