Shakahola Horror: Emotions High As MPs Condemn Kilifi ‘Genocide’

Emotions ran high in Parliament as MPs adjourned normal business to debate the contentious Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s genocide.

The controversial ‘pastor’ Mackenzie is now at the center of a deadly Kilifi County religious cult investigation.

Kilifi North MP Owen Baya, who moved the adjournment motion, expressed regret that Mackenzie’s family were eating while his church’s followers starved to death.

“This is terrorism, and it is tragic.” It’s a man who wants to kill people. “A man who has committed genocide in the country,” the lawmaker lamented.

Baya warned that if such pastors are not stopped soon, the country could face a similar tragedy in the future.

“It should serve as a wake-up call.” “As the 13th Parliament, we have the opportunity to do something about it,” he said.

Mackenzie, the founder of Good News International Church, is said to have encouraged his followers to fast until they died.

As of Tuesday, more than 90 bodies had been retrieved from Shakahola forest while other followers were found starving and on the brink of death.
