People Are Tired — Mudavadi Fires Back At Uhuru

Musalia Mudavadi, the leader of the Amani National Congress (ANC), has ripped into President Uhuru Kenyatta, in which he gently pushed Kenyans to support Raila Odinga.

On Thursday, Mudavadi, who appeared to defend Deputy President William Ruto, spoke at the ANC headquarters, saying that the country required immediate action.

“Young people demand change, and improving this country’s economy requires immediate action,” he stated.

Mudavadi made a subtle jab at Odinga’s presidential ambitions, saying that the time is ripe for youthful leaders to take the reins, arguing that the “old” have run the country aground.

“If people are concerned that young people are running too fast, they must realize that young people are fed up with being held back,” He added.

Kenyatta, who has been working closely with Odinga since their truce in March 2018 following a presidential election disputed by Odinga, warned that Ruto, whom he had declared as his favored successor on multiple occasions prior to 2018, might lose the race.

Kenyatta hinted at Odinga winning the presidential race in 2022, saying he may win the “marathon.” He referred to the DP’s campaign as a sprint, a thinly veiled reference to Ruto.
