The chair further notes that it is unbelievable that Kenya continues to lose members of the public and security officers at the hands of criminal gangs.

IPOA has launched a monitoring exercise to establish the circumstances around the attack in Namariat village where dedicated officers who were carrying out their duties lost their lives.

In a statement by Anne Makori, the chairperson of IPOA, the commission sends condolences to the families and friends of all who fell in the criminal attack that as well resulted in a loss of livestock.

The chair further notes that it is unbelievable that Kenya continues to lose members of the public and security officers at the hands of criminal gangs.

IPOA has made a raft of recommendations to the national police service arising from the monitoring of various incidents including the Mpeketoni and Kapedo attacks.

The commission believes that if the recommendations are fully implemented, they will assist mitigation of the security challenges Kenya faces especially in operation areas.

IPOA further cautions members of the public against attacking security personnel.

This according to IPOA is tantamount to challenging Kenya’s sovereignty and calls for a firm but lawful response by the police to ensure lasting peace across the Country.
