Police Arrest 2 Robbery Suspects, Recover Firearm In Garissa

A multi-agency security team acting on information provided by the public successfully recovered one AK-47 rifle on Saturday.

In a statement through the National Police Service(NPS) official Twitter page, police said the firearm was recovered after officers received a tip-off from members of the public.

The officers also recovered two magazines, 42 rounds of ammunition, and porches.

“Earlier today, a multi-agency security team acted on information provided by members of the public, and successfully recovered one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, forty-two rounds of ammunition, and porches at Ifo Area in Daadab Sub-County, Garissa County,” the statement read in parts.

At the same time, two suspects alleged to have been involved in a robbery with violence were also nabbed during the operation and are currently being held in custody awaiting to be arraigned.

“NPS commends members of the public for providing timely information that led to the recovery of the firearms, and arrest of the suspects.”
