Following a sting operation on Friday night, police in Garissa arrested suspected militants and recovered four firearms, including three AK-47s and 203 rounds of ammunition.
While confirming the occurrence, Garissa County Commissioner Boaz Cherutich clarified that the operations were not targeting any clan, group of people or family and that they would be carried out without discrimination.
He stated that security operations will be carried out throughout the county to root out all militia organizations frightening the public, and he urged locals to cooperate.
Meanwhile, after a spectacular automobile chase, Kericho County police shot and killed three robberies with violent suspects and apprehended two others.
Officer John Onyango of Kericho County Criminal Investigations said they received a tip following a robbery and hijacking event at the Brooke police station’s Duka Moja location.
