Some 169 more bodabodas were Wednesday detained and 59 riders arrested in ongoing operation against the group.
This follows an order issued to the security agents to crackdown on the operators who are not compliant with the law.
The operation came after some of the operators were captured molesting a female motorist along Wangari Maathai Road in Nairobi after an accident.
The operation continues and those arrested are usually taken to court with various charges.
Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i issued a raft of measures to choke hold the industry that was seen to be spiralling out of control.
Part of directives given include mandatory procedural acquisition of Smart Riders Licenses as well as vetting and enrolment of riders into registered saccos.
The CS met the group yesterday in Nairobi and communicated the same saying the government had waived Sh5,800 registration fee to enable the riders register.
