Police Dispel Reports Of KCSE Examiner Caught Stealing Clothes At Alliance Girls

Reports that a KCSE examiner stationed at Alliance Girls High School stole clothes at the exam marking centre are false.

Kikuyu OCPD Catherine Ringera confirmed that they visited the school on Thursday after receiving reports on the alleged theft, only to discover that the incident had been misreported from the leaked CCTV footage.

The OCPD said that the examiner in the video had picked her colleague’s garment while retrieving her own from the clothesline.

The owner of the misplaced clothing then went ahead and reported the incident to school administration, and it was then that the CCTV footage was retrieved to confirm who had indeed picked up the missing attire.

The examiner seen on CCTV was then asked to produce the clothes she had chosen from the clothesline, and it was confirmed that she had indeed chosen her colleague’s attire.

She returned the clothing, and the situation was quickly resolved.

The incident happened on January 5, 2022, and when Kikuyu police arrived at the school yesterday (Thursday), they were informed of what had happened, dismissing the theft allegations.

The OCPD confirmed that no one had been arrested or asked to record a statement about the incident, as some media outlets had reported.
