Police are investigating an incident in which a prisoner was shot dead as he tried to escape from custody.
The incident occurred at Rhamu police station, Mandera County.
The suspect had been held there over robbery with violence and had tried to escape from the lawful custody when officers on duty opened fire at him.
The body was taken to a local mortuary as police investigate the circumstances of his death.
