Police officer loses fingers after teargas exploded on his hand

    In rather unfortunate development, a police officer lost his finger after a teargas canister detonated in his hands.

    The tragic incident happened during protests in the CBD.

    The officer was immediately rushed to hospital for medication as demonstration continued in the city.

    Angered by multiple tax proposals contained within the bill, the demonstrating Kenyans could be heard chanting anti-government slogans in videos circulated on various social media platforms.

    Police have since engaged protesters in running battles and several members of the public have been arrested as a result.

    Journalists and members of the press covering the demonstrations were required to produce their credentials before proceeding to document the events.

    Nairobi Police Commander Adamson Bungei had announced a ban on protests in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) claiming the police did not receive a written notice.
