An investigation has been initiated into an incident in which the body of a man with gunshot wounds was discovered in Athi River, Machakos County.
The man had been shot from the back and the bullet exited from the mouth.
The body was discovered near a construction site in the area moments after the incident had happened.
The body was moved to the mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
According to human rights reports, reports of rotting remains being recovered from rivers have been on the rise.
Some of those who voiced their amazement on social media were concerned about the police’s safety procedures.
