The police in are using all means to disperse the demonstrations being held in Kasarani over the poor state of Kasarani-Mwiki road.

In a video shared by a Twitter user a police anti-riot water cannon truck was seen spraying teargas to flats in the area.

The Police truck could be seen spraying the teargas with no demonstrators within.

So far no elected leader in the area has come out to give a solution to the residents who are now taking demonstrations to the fourth day.

Kenya Urban Roads Authority(KURA) has also not communicated officially on the state of the road and if they will start working on it.

However in a response to a twitter user KURA said that they have engaged with Public representatives from Kasarani and have agreed to start working on road soon.

In May, 2018 KURA announced that it had finished working on the road after the residents held similar demonstrations but it is over a year since then and the road is now full of potholes and generally impassable.
