Police: We Have Solved 71 Criminal Cases in Four Months

The National Police Service (NPS) has successfully investigated and concluded 71 criminal cases in the past four months, according to an official statement released by the service.

The NPS, operating under Article 243 of the Kenyan Constitution, reaffirmed its mandate to safeguard public safety and national security, noting significant breakthroughs in high-profile cases handled through the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Among the notable cases are investigations involving officials from the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives (KUSSCO), the tragic deaths of Multimedia University student Silvia Kemunto and British national Campbell Alistair Scott, and the murder of Aisha Abubakar, an IEBC official in Kilifi.

A separate case that drew national attention involved a violent home invasion at Elmarba Full Gospel Church in Kajiado County, where a Korean missionary couple was targeted. Four suspects were arrested and are currently facing trial.

Investigations into the murder of Kasipul MP Hon. Charles Were have also registered significant progress, NPS reported.

The service credited members of the public for their courage in sharing vital information, which played a critical role in the swift resolution of the cases.
