A Kenyan police corporal is recovering in Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital after a harrowing ordeal on Sunday, June 2nd. The officer was attacked by a sword-wielding motorist he had just flagged for a traffic violation.

The incident began at Mirema junction on Kamiti Road, where the officer spotted a vehicle making an illegal U-turn and obstructing traffic. He approached the vehicle to address the issue, but the driver panicked and attempted to flee.

In the ensuing chaos, the driver lost control and hit the curb, getting stuck.

According to police reports, the officer then entered the vehicle and instructed the driver to proceed to the Kasarani Police Station. However, the situation took a dramatic turn when the driver reached the QuickMart supermarket. He stopped abruptly, pulled a sword from under the seat, and attacked the officer.

Fearing for his safety, the officer jumped out of the vehicle. The enraged driver pursued him, raining further blows and kicks.

The struggle resulted in the officer tripping and falling into a ditch. The assailant took advantage of this moment to grab the officer’s phone battery before escaping the scene.

Thankfully, members of the public intervened and helped the injured officer. He received initial treatment at a local clinic before being transferred to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for further medical attention.

While the driver remains at large, police have apprehended an accomplice who was involved in the incident. A manhunt is currently underway to locate the driver responsible for the brutal attack.
