Ngando area MCA, Hon. Peter Wahinya Kimuhu has revealed that the collapsed classroom was not on county records.
While updating the media on the state of the students, the area representative lamented that the disaster could have been avoided, had the landlord who leased out space for the school-issued strict regulations on the building’s construction.
”This school is a temporary school…. the construction was done without any approvals from the planning department of City Hall ” said Hon. Wahinya
Also speaking to the media, Dagoretti Member of parliament, John Kiaire lamented that the area did not have poublic land inorder to build standard structures. He asked the government to allocate land for proper development.
So far, 7 pupils have been confirmed dead, while 64 others have been admitted to various hospitals in the area.
