Security Beefed Up As Ruto Files Petition Response

Police increased their presence at the court grounds after last Monday's incident where a crowd of supporters stormed the Milimani courts to accompany their candidates.

Additional Security units have been deployed at the Supreme Court sitting at Milimani Law courts as President-Elect Dr William Ruto and Kenya Kwanza are expected to file their response in a petition filed by Raila Odinga and Martha Karua.

The President Elect’s victory in the August 2022 general elections was challenged by the Azimio team over allegations of irregularities and a compromised IEBC.

Police increased their presence at the court grounds after last Monday’s incident where a crowd of supporters stormed the Milimani courts to accompany their candidates.

Raila Odinga has prepared a 52-man legal team and has expressed confidence that Ruto’s win will be squashed.

Ruto was declared the president-elect by Mr Wafula Chebukati, the chair of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

However, Raila disputed the results after four of the seven IEBC commissioners led by Juliana Cherera walked away and disowned the results.

Raila has also accused Dr Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza side of rigging through sophisticated hacking of the IEBC servers. Martha Karua sensationally claimed the team sought the services of foreign hackers to penetrate and alter the forms 34As.
