President Ruto Delivers Free Arizona State University Scholarships To Kenyans

The government has kept its promise to provide scholarships to Kenyans who attended the Jamhuri Day celebrations.

President William Ruto announced on Monday that everyone in the stadium would receive a Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation scholarship from Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management.

“It is now time to keep that promise. There is a QR code near you. Scan and access the scholarship now,” he told Kenyans who had joined him to mark the celebrations.

Ruto stated that a 16-unit course that would have cost one Sh100,000 was now available to Kenyans for free at the stadium as part of the Jamhuri Day celebrations.

He made the remarks at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi during the 58th Jamhuri Day celebrations.

Kenyans who attend Jamhuri Day celebrations will receive a free scholarship, according to ICT and Digital Economy Principal Secretary John Tanui.

Tanui, a member of the National Celebrations Committee, expressed his thoughts on Monday’s public celebrations at Nyayo Stadium.

The scholarships will be awarded to eligible adults for technology certification courses.

The President also stated in his speech that the government appreciates firms and organizations that have stepped forward to make Kenya a “hot bed of innovation.”

“We will continue to do our part and make such partnerships bigger in future and you are always welcome to be part of Kenya’s journey to greatness.”

Konza Technopolis, he said, has begun distributing 23,000 virtual desktops to Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutes in Kenya, allowing students to access remote job opportunities across the country.

“We are committed to support young people in re-establishing the country as a republic of ideas and home of renovation,” he said.

The President stated that the government will assist the most innovative ideas in scaling up into viable commercial enterprises through a dedicated start-up fund.
