President Ruto Leads Madaraka Day Celebrations In Bungoma

Madaraka Day, observed annually on June 1st, commemorates the day in 1963 that Kenya attained internal self rule after being a British colony since 1920.

President William Ruto has arrived at the Masinde Muliro stadium in Kanduyi for the 61st Madaraka Day celebrations.

The climax of the today’s national celebrations will be the president’s speech.

As early as 5 am, Kenyans poured into the stadium to secure their spots, and by mid-morning, the venue was filled to capacity.
