President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence to President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Mandela family, and the People of the Republic of South Africa following the death of Amb Zindziswa Mandela.
Amb. Mandela, who until her death was her country’s Ambassador to Denmark, is the daughter of South Africa’s first black President Nelson Mandela and freedom icon Winnie Mandela.
The President wished the Mandela family God’s comfort as they mourn their departed kin.
Zindzi Mandela died in a Johannesburg hospital in the early hours of Monday morning, public broadcaster SABC said.
She was serving as the South African ambassador to Denmark at the time of her death.
The cause of her death was not immediately revealed.
Zindzi was known for her vocal support for radical land reform in South Africa.
Only two of Nelson Mandela’s six children are still alive: Zenani Dlamini, Zindzi’s sister; and Pumla Makaziwe Mandela, a daughter from his first marriage, to Evelyn Mase.
