Priest accuses Jubilee of fanning political animosity

Father Kamomoe said utterances made by politicians were flaming political hatred and appealed for cessation of the rhetoric.

Lately, Jubilee factions have traded harsh words over the breakdown in relations between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto.

The irreparable differences are seen as the reason the DP refused to attend a high profile Covid-19 mitigation event despite being invited to attend.

Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has accused DP Ruto of executing a coup in the party at a time when the President was out of the country.

The President has steered clear of the Jubilee implosion, instead saying that his utmost mission is to unite the country.

Effectively, this has confirmed that President Kenyatta will not back DP Ruto as his succesor in 2022.

Instead, he prefers to drive a change of constitution agenda that will be more inclusive to the political needs of the country.

Father Kamomoe was speaking during the celebration of the 27 ordinary Mass in of the Catholic Church calendar.

The Rev. Fr. Fernandes was the lead celebrant at the Holy Family Basilica Mass covered live on Facebook by Uzalendo news. He called on Christians to uphold their faith.

Deacon Charles Wachira proclaimed the Gospel during the Holy Mass celebration.

For the first time since March, there was free sitting at the Church. No social distance was observed.
