Had old Jomo lived beyond 1978, Daniel Moi would have ended up a former Vice President just like Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
Had Mwai Kibaki not referred to KANU party as a Mugumo Tree, he would have been political mince meat by the time Kenyans voted in 1992.
Professor George Saitoti was allowed by the deep state to accumulate a mountain of wealth and cash. But Moi branded him untrustworthy, pushed him by the way side instead clearing the way for Uhuru Kenyatta.
Had Raila Odinga not been what he is, Uhuru would have ruled Kenya upto 2012.
But Raila called Moi bluff, united Kenyans against Moi and thwarted Uhuru’s claim to the throne, with a wheelchair-confined Mwai Kibaki.
In 2008, Kalonzo Musyoka came calling as the next Vice President.
He was sure to succeed Kibaki, because Uhuru was facing the hangman in the Hague.
Kalonzo was duped to believe that with DP Ruto in the Hague gallows, the Kalenjins would back him.
He appointed Kalenjin professionals to top positions in his secretariet, just to assure them of his support.
But Kenyan politics is cruel. And the tribe matters. Kikuyu and Kalenjin elders decided to vote with their alleged “criminal” sons.
Kalonzo and others bitterly realised that the international community does not vote in Kenya.
Now it is DP Ruto’s turn to eat bitter herbs. That the GEMA vote is not his… neither is it for Raila.
The GEMA nation will have a candidate…just like the Kalenjin nation.
Gema has the tyranny. Raila has the most cumulative votes from all Kenyan communities. DP Ruto has KAMATUSA and the neutrals.
We are in for a mega political battle that will make Kenya a stronger democracy.
Meanwhile, David Murathe will enhance his role of the GEMA spokesperson and the man to ensure Central Kenya interests are taken care of.
However,.. sooner than later, somebody will cry in the toilet.
